my 12+ y/o pug just started peeing everywhere=(
Hi, ive had Monte for over 9 yrs, you've seen him for respiratory illness/enlarged heart...he was about 3 when i got him so id say he's over 12 y/o...just recently he started losing the ability to hold his urine...there hasnt been any changes in the house and i notice it's everywhere, cleaning up after him at least 4-6 times a day... even in the middle of the floor which leads me to believe he's not marking...he's been so good about it up till now and i'm worried there is a more serious reason for this sudden inability to hold it...i know he's old but he doesnt show signs of pain and his urine doesnt smell and isnt dark in color, he stays hydrated,so im concerned...thx for reading this!

I've alerted Dr. Bullard to this message. He is out of town and will be back in the morning.

Veterinarian
There are many things that can cause an older pet to start urinating in this manner. We should consider doing blood and urine on this guy to check his kidneys and bladder and also make sure we are not seeing the start of diabetites etc. Keep in mind that it is possible that we could be looking at a behavior change. Please feel free to bring monte in so we can help you find out what is going on with him.
