    Itchy Cat

Dr. Bullard, Keetah has been really super itchy for the last 6 mths or so. She is licking herself so much she has taken off her hair off her belly and her tail and around her private areas. She is scratching sores around her neck and ears. She is licking her tummy so much she has sores like hot spots. I know she probably needs a skin scrap to find out the problem. But do you know what it could possibly be? Or could I give her some Benedryl to see if that helps? How much would a skin scrapping cost? Thanks, Shannon Weeks

Sounds like allergies or mites we may need to skin scrape her. Benadryl may work or we may have to do i steroid shot. the skin scrpe is
    about 35 dollars.

Alright, Erika and I will bring her in tomorrow to have her checked out. I know she is miserable. Thanks so much.

Hi Dr. Bullard, thanks for looking at Keetah today. I am happy to report that since she has been home she has barely itched or licked herself. Hopefully this will clear up and her hair will grow back. Is there anything I should continue with to help with her skin allergies once the antibiotics are gone or will that take care of everything? Thanks, Shannon
