This is Mayhem Meyers, a 5 month old pit bull. Why does he deserve to be pet of the month? Because he's a sweet boy with a warm heart and he loves Ann Road Animal Hospital!

this is Tonka Blue, he is a 10 month young English Mastiff who is one of the kindest, calmest and smartest puppies ive ever known...he shares his home with his bullmastiff brother Angus and kitty sister Jazzy, but what makes him so special is he allows Mommy to rescue and foster lots of pets (just this year 18 dogs), who dont have it as fortunate as he does...his size is intimidating but this gentle giant knows it and although not always graceful, he somehow puts our furry guests at ease, ive seen him give up his toys, bed and attention from his family over and over and for his age, it makes me so proud...we are lucky to have you as a part of our family "Blue" and that's why our baby should be pet of the monthDSC02725.jpg

    Cool Desi Lou

Desi Lou is my male Chihuahua. His first visit to ARAH was on the way home from his breeder. This first picture is Desi Lou at 2 months old, and the second is Desi Lou now:

Desi loves Ann Road Animal Hospital, Dr Bullard, and all of the receptionists. Desi is a very lovable little guy. He loves to give kisses to everyone.
Desi has had to overcome an eating disorder. He was obese when I got him at 8 weeks, and at 4 months I had to start him on adult food because he was not losing his fat fast enough. Desi didn't eat, he almost inhaled his food. I saw him sitting down after eating and looking like he was still chewing food...for about 10 minutes. It was then that Desi Lou had 'Eating Right Boot Camp' at home. I started one kibble at a time...if he chewed he got another right away; if he just swallowed he had to wait for about a minute before he got another piece. This was a very time-consuming job, but after about two months Desi Lou finally learned that he has to chew his food. Now it was time for Desi Lou to be able to eat on his own, but instead of a bowl we have been using treat toys. He does a good job getting the kibble out of the toys and he does chew his kibble now. This is Desi Lou getting working very hard to eat his dinner:

Desi loves ARAH so much. All I have to say is 'Dr Bullard' and he comes running to me. When we get to ARAH, Desi starts screeching to hurry me to get him out of the car and go inside. Then he makes it a point to visit everyone that is the waiting room and the girls behind the counter, of course!
Desi Lou is a bit like Desi Arnaz (DesiLu Productions) he is a little entertainer and a little comic and acrobat all rolled into one little very loving body!

    Smile

    This is Mandy.

She is such a sweet girl!
Mandy loves ARAH. Besides going for her regular shots, Mandy has visited ARAH for a few other problems. Mandy underwent surgery to remove a bladder stone; she just recently had her dewclaws removed; and she is having some ongoing spine problems. She knows that ARAH can help her when she is hurting so she gladly goes so that the right thing can be done to make her feel better. At home, Mandy loves to run for her toys when they are thrown and she brings them back so that she can run and chase over and over again. Mandy has been seen leaping from the floor then over the entire couch to land on the other side. She jumps like she has springs in her legs, and she loves to go for very long walks.

Randle face.jpgRandle El.jpgThis is Randle El! His favorite place to hang out in the morning while I'm getting ready for work is the bathroom sink. I can turn the water on at a tiny stream and he just sits there. Believe it or not...he absolutely loves the water. I used to take him to Banfield and swore he'd never go to the vet again. His red-haired temper shown. However, he didn't seem to mind being at ARAH ... except for his Houdini trick of figuring out how to open his cage.

This is little Sophie. She will be one year old on 19 December. She is truly a little Angel. She is loved by her adoptive brother Randle El and her dog, Murphey. Sophie came to live with us in February. She captured our hearts and helped us get through a heartache. She has added such joy to our home.

This is Murphey. He's a 7 1/2 year old Hovawart. Murphey is such a unique dog. He seems to know exactly what you are saying when talking to him. He listens better than the kids!! He absoluely loves to swim, jump on trampolines and really enjoys trimming tree limbs that are no higher than 6 feet from the ground. He's originally long-haired as he is a European herding dog. But, since leaving the snow behind in Germany and Minot, he had to have a major haircut when we got to Vegas.
